Poem
to my mother
When I
parted from you
I didn’t know it was forever.
I hugged you
and told you
I would soon be back
without imagining
that it wouldn’t happen.
I remember
those mornings
when I would walk by your side
on those stone streets
lightened by the sun.
As we
walked through the town
I listened attentive
stories of your childhood
carved in my mind.
How I
miss mother
when I would lay
and by my side
you would pray and blessed me!
That house,
mother,
that was the crib
of my eight brothers
keeps its shine
as if it was the moon.
Mother with your wrinkled face
and your white hair
you show the fatigue
of your night vigils.
But there
is something about you
that fills me with joy
is that in spite of everything,
You always smiled.
