Sponsorship
BorderSenses is a community-based, bi-annual literary magazine representing El Paso/Ciudad Juárez/Las Cruces and other border communities in this area. Our mission is to provide a voice to all visual artists and writers of this region and to promote cross-border exchange in the arts. We provide a venue of artistic growth that helps improve the quality of life for our communities.
BorderSenses was established in Fall 2000, and we have published four issues (Fall 2000, Spring 2001, Fall 2001, and Spring 2002) so far. We're currently working on our forthcoming fifth issue, to be released in December 2002. We're happy to note that our participation and readership has grown substantially since we began our operations. We have held readings at The Bridge Center, Dolce Vita, Barnes and Noble etc and we usually have around one hundred people at these events. All these events are free and open to the public.
BorderSenses has been featured in The El Paso Times (1/15/02 and 12/6/00), What's Up magazine (May 2001), Looking at El Paso section of El Diario (2/22/02), and on The Morning Show of KTSM Channel 9 (August 2002). The El Paso Community Foundation, one of the largest community organizations of the area, has recognized our efforts by providing us with two grants--in Fall 2001 and Summer 2002.
BorderSenses is seeking support of the business community, particularly those interested and involved in the arts because we feel that we are a vehicle for reaching a diverse population that cuts across ethnicities, genders and age groups. This is a perfect opportunity to reach this educated, eclectic, art-oriented community. The sponsor will benefit from this association for we'll encourage the readers/artists to reciprocate this patronage.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Amit K. Ghosh
